  2. Oh neat, thanks for putting this stuff up. Kevin had scans of a bunch of old Cats Laughing flyers somewhere, but they were lost when a hard drive failed. He says he’s still got flyers, postcards, etc. that he intends to scan in again sometime. I’ll let you know when we get around to that.

We have lots of Cats stuff (including the albums, shirts featuring the art you used for the top of this site, and so forth), but would love to someday acquire some audio and/or video of shows.

  3. Laurel, I’ll keep posting what I can, when I can. The frustrating thing right now is I have 8mm tapes and nothing to play them with. But I’ll get more stuff online eventually.

  4. I found the link at http://dreamcafe.com/words/. This brings back memories… I still remember how disappointed I was when I outgrew my Cats Laughing ‘groupie’ shirt.

    Thanks for posting it.

  5. Don, I could make some T-shirts available again via Cafepress, I suspect—I’m now adding that to the list of things to do, um, someday?

  6. I think if you wait a couple of years I can buy them for my boys. 12 is just a bit too young for that and I have aged (thickened/softened/alltheabove)a wee bit past where anyone could be flattered at the concept of me being their groupie.

  7. I thought I remember a Dr. Strange comic with Cats Laughing in it. Something about Danse Macabre, a Pied Piper sort of fellow, something along those lines. Maybe a Chris Claremont connection?

  8. Don, groupies come in all sizes, and they’re all loved. I like to think what we lose in cuteness, we make up for in wisdom. (Hey, I dunno if it’s true, but I like to think it!)

Woody, if that happened, we missed it or I’ve forgotten it. There was a second Excalibur appearance, in the Mojo Mayhem special. Hmm. Very curious now!

  9. Now that I think about it, Cats Laughing was the “Pied Piper”, and the band was under some sort of spell. I remember people following them out onto the street, to do the “Danse Macabre”. I stopped reading comics about 1984-86, so it must have been a time around or before this. It must have been Dr. Strange, because it was a bit of a dark comic; subject as well as art. I would really like to find this comic – hope someone remembers this!

  10. Woody, you might be remembering a different band, ’cause the Cats didn’t made it into Marvel until a little later than that time frame. Still, it’d be cool if they did, so maybe someone will find the evidence.

    • God, Loj! Me too! Painfully.
